Quick, interesting read! J. Schmidt I could totally identify with the author. Her experience as a sensitive person is a lot like mine and it even sounds like we have similar husbands. Parts made me laugh and parts made me cry because I could identify so much. I don't expect everyone to understand and she even says at the end of the book some people might think "you're just making this up to get attention" (not exact quote)--I don't want anyone to think that about me so I probably won't advertise that I'm an HSP, but it does help knowing there are other people who experience life the way I do.. Insightful read for HSP Jane This book is so insightful for me. Even if you are not an HSP, this book may help you relate to someone who is. I could relate to each of the essays and gained valuable information. It's a quick read as I read it in one sitting. But there are suggestions for other HSP books that I have found very beneficial as well.. DP said Great little book.. I totally identified with this book. It's so nice to know there are others in the world like me. It is also refreshing to be able to laugh at myself. If you are an introverted HSP, and especially if you are an introverted HSP married to an extroverted non-HSP, I highly recommend this book as a breath of fresh air.
Imagine no longer wishing you were like everyone else. Many HSPs have spent years feeling defective, wrong, or weird. A Highly Sensitive Person’s Life is like having a cup of tea with a good friend while chatting about issues that only another HSP would understand. Highly Sensitive Person (HSP), introvert, blogger, and podcaster Kelly O’Laughlin balances humor and sound advice in this blog-style collection of personal stories and honest reflections. Readers may see themselves described in these pages and think: “I didn’t know anyone else felt this way!” You might even discover surprising new insights. (With a sense of humor and some attitude.) A variety of topics are covered, including: loud noises, bad smells, stagnant air, caffeine, scary & violent movies, creativity, empathy, dealing with loss, anxiety, decisions, peacefulness, misophonia, parties & social events, friendship
