This is a terrific bedtime story for preschoolers or even toddlers; the rhyming text is extremely simple, and the illustrations, with their bright, unusual palette for cityscapes, will grab the attention of the child. The story begins with waking up in the morning with an. Onomatopee-e Kids love onomatopoeia, and this book is a whole lot of that. That is about all it is, though. The cars go beep. The pigeons strut about. The whistle and Ric Flair both go "wooo woooooooooo." There's ring-a-lings, a scritch, a scratch, and a coo. Smashers, roars, and a flitter-flutter, too. The book has no real plot other than one boy whose super-hearing is both a blessing and . "Book for a library donation" according to Lotus Flower Fan.
