Five Stars L Great Book. Gail said I enjoyed the descriptions of the area around Owl Farm. I read this book because I wondered "whatever happened to Juan?". I lived in Aspen in the '70s and many of the people were familiar and my friends. The kid turned out really well, is a gifted writer, thoughtful and thankfully, tells his kid he loves him - all heart. I enjoyed the descriptions of the area around. "a rational look at an irrational man" according to E.Swope. Part catharsis, part biography, part autobiography, Stories I Tell Myself is an intimate look at growing up in the Thompson household. Juan Thompson proves to be as good a writer as his father, though with a decidedly different style. The book exposes some 'myth' or hyperbole in his father's accounts of his man
