"Silly Suzy Goose! Children will enjoy knowing better than she does and voicing the sound effects."—KIRKUS REVIEWSIt’s Christmas Eve, and Suzy Goose and her friends are admiring their beautifully decorated tree. It’s perfect except for one thing: a star for the top. But Suzy sees just the right one, high in the sky, and no one can stop her from trying every possible way to get it! Bold, expressive illustrations follow the charmingly single-minded goose in a new adventure, a tale of seasonal magic found in surprising places.
Petr Horácek is the author-illustrator of LOOK OUT, SUZY GOOSE and SILLY SUZY GOOSE, as well as RUN, MOUSE, RUN!; BIRD, FLY HIGH; A NEW HOUSE FOR MOUSE; and STRAWBERRIES ARE RED. He lives in England.
All it needs is a star on top, and Suzy sees a perfect one up in the sky. Meanwhile the star has magically moved to the top of the tree. Luckily, with the help of her friends, she finds her way home. The full-spread mixed-media illustrations depicting a textured snowy landscape against a starry night sky contrast with the friendly and determined figure of Suzy, with her orange beak glowing and her tiny eyes on the prize. From School Library Journal PreS–Suzy the goose and her farm animal friends have decorated a Christmas tree in the barnyard. She can not reach it no matter how high she jumps, and when she tries to walk to it, she gets lost in the snow. Quiet and sweet–a fine choice for both storytime and family

This book is not yet as popular as the original, "Look Out, Suzy Goose!" but it's one of his favorites and he's only had it for a few weeks. All the Suzy Goose books have wonderful illustrations and good stories, and this is no exception. Suzy decides that she needs to get a star for the Christmas tree and of course has an unexpected adventure, but then everything turns out in the end. (Does that count as a spoiler?)Highly recommended!. Amazon Customer said Perfect for library story time. I read this to our preschool library story time group. They loved the story, and had great fun yelling "Splat" every time Suzie tried to jump or fly to reach the star. Nice illustration, many animal noises to make, pleasant ending.
