"Perhaps the best of the series" according to BarClay. I bought the first Ranger's Apprentice book at a University book store. It was sitting on the cheap racks, unloved and unwanted by sophisticated college students. But what a find! These books are well written an interesting. This book, sent in Japan -- oh, I mean Nihon-Ja -- was pleasantly interesting and possibly the best of those I've read so far. The detail in sailing and battle tactics was gripping, the. Amazing. Amazing. Everything in this book is perfect, literally, I've never reviewed before but I learned how just for this book. How Evanlyn and Alyss teamed up to beat the snow tiger and rescue all the men and the Emperor! Amazing. And Horace is going to be a Royal son-in-law! I've read this book about ten times, and I never get tired of reading it again. I'd recommend this to anybody who loves fiction or medieva. Amazon Customer said I LOVE THIS SERIES. I have read the series books 1-10 and loved every one! These are great books for any age! Some violence but very tasteful and well written.
