The play along CD has each tune done as a trio as well as a backing track with just bass and drums. Great so far right? BUT (and this is the big negative. "More than what I expected." according to Tom in Sierra Madre. Initially I was sorry that I bought this book. But after working with the music in this book, I found this book to be a wonderful teacher of jazz history, techniques and styles. This book requires a considerable knowledge of jazz and is written at an advanced level of piano proficiency. The CD offers instructive music tracks and also provides background tra. "Well Done!!!" according to clarence chapman. This book delves into the Cool "West Coast" Jazz Style of Piano. Cats like Vince Guraldi "The guy who played the piano on the Charlie Brown Cartoon specials", Dave Brubeck,Les Mcann and more are covered in this book. The play-along tracks have a nice cool sound that are a joy to play!I dig this book and recommend it to serious Jazz piano students!
